The Finnish Puzzle Championships were held in Espoo on 18-19 April 2026. The competition, which has been organized since 2024, has brought together the Finnish speed puzzling community, which has grown bigger every year!

This year, well over 200 individual competitors, as well as numerous pairs and teams, participated in the competition. Not everyone who wanted to participate in the team competition could fit in, so hopefully a larger venue will be found for next year.

The competition was organized by the Finnish Jigsaw Puzzle Sports Association, and the event was very well and professionally organized. The third floor of the venue, which had a large puzzle flea market, puzzle shop stalls, and space for spending time together between the competition rounds, was particularly praised. The café at the competition venue had a good selection of items, and there was also a MakuPaku in the courtyard, where you could order pizza.

A diverse selection of Ravensburger puzzles was assembled at the competition. The choices for already published puzzles were diverse, and the most obvious ones were avoided. The finals also featured puzzles that had not been published in Finland before, and it was especially great that the individual final puzzle was unique and designed just for this competition: a beautiful, but challenging owl artwork by Valpuri Kerttula.

It was especially great to meet our competitors at the event and see them do great! If you participated in the competition, we hope that it went as you hoped, and most importantly: that the event was fun.

Rosa, the founder of Palasina Studio, also competed in all categories and placed 8th in the individual competition, 3rd in the pair competition, and 1st in the team competition.

If you were unable to attend and would like to learn more about the event, the entire competition was streamed and the recording can be found on the Finnish Puzzle Sports Federation’s YouTube. If you listen carefully, you can hear Rosa narrating the B-prelim round of the pair competition and the A-prelim round of the individual competition.
